****************************************************************** ShadowGram Online Dark Shadows Updates List Marcy Robin's Cyberspace "Dark Shadows" Update List An Internet Publication of SHADOWGRAM < ShadowGram@aol.com > Number 104. October 22, 2003. ****************************************************************** Hello, Dark Shadows Fan, ShadowGram (SG) announces the following breaking news for Dark Shadows (DS). · SG Premiere Announcements from Dan Curtis Productions (DCP) and Sci Fi Channel (SFC): --- Through the end of the year, DS is scheduled to run every weekday morning at 8:00 and 8:30 *except for* the following dates: Nov. 11, Nov. 27, Nov. 28, Dec. 25, Dec. 26, and Dec. 31. "There are currently no other pre-emptions planned," though "that can change, given any unforeseen events." --- DCP also asks SG to premiere-announce: "The Sci Fi Channel will finish airing reruns of DS at the end of the year, with the last scheduled broadcast set for December 30. "The network's contract is up at that time and it has been decided that, after a decade and 4 runs (due to the fact that Sci Fi has aired 2 episodes daily), the series will not be renewed. Sci Fi is pursuing different and newer programming opportunities and will not be reconsidering its decision. "They have been pleased with DS - which was the first show purchased by the network and the only vintage program that has aired continuously on Sci Fi (with the exception of a 1-year break). The fact is Sci Fi no longer schedules older shows. DS has been fortunate to be a part of the network for as long as it has. "Discussions are underway to hopefully find a new TV home for DS reruns. SG will keep fans updated in each postal-mail published SG issue and on this SG DS Updates List. "When DS ends on Sci Fi, the show will be approximately 1 month away from the final episode and there are no plans at Sci Fi to extend the run to finish the last episodes. Viewers who are left hanging can purchase those episodes from MPI Home Video (www.mpihomevideo.com or 1-800-777-2223 weekdays)." Detailed descriptive summaries of those and other episodes are found in Kathleen Resch's illustrated book "The DS 1840/1841 Parallel Time Concordance."
