It premieres on the network Sat., Sept. 25. **** DAVID SELBY (Quentin) will be seen in the upcoming feature film "Surviving Christmas," opening Oct. 22. In print issue SG #98 (March 2003), his wife Chip told SG: David has "just a small role, but it's funny" in "Surviving Christmas" with Ben Affleck, James Gandolfini, Christina Applegate, and Catherine O'Hara. David plays "the father of a young woman" in the comedy that filmed in Chicago and LA in late 2002-early 2003. Its release was held until this holiday season **** "The new S.E. Hinton novel, 'Hawkes Harbor,' was originally submitted a few years ago to Harper-Collins as a possible Dark Shadows novel. However, it was felt that the content was a bit too explicit - sex and language - for a Dark Shadows project and the story was rejected due to elements deemed inappropriate for the DS series. So Hinton changed character names and other aspects in order to publish the story as a non-Dark Shadows book." DS similarities are found through the character of Jamie Summers, a young man whose life has led him to danger, adventure, risk, and crime in exotic seaports around the globe. But his worst danger comes out of the night in a Delaware seaport village. There he encounters a vampire and eventually is placed in a mental institution.... There are no DS references in this vampire genre novel. In one interview, the author (Susan Eloise Hinton) says she got the idea while involved in a role-playing game as a pirate character, and after researching Robert Louis Stevenson's literary classic "Treasure Island." "Hawkes Harbor" - By S.E. Hinton. Hardcover. Tor Books, 256 pages, $21.95. Publication release Sept., 2004.
