September 30, 2005. ****************************************************************** Hello, Dark Shadows Fan, ShadowGram (SG) announces the following breaking news for Dark Shadows (DS). ---- SG regrets to inform fans of the death of director HENRY KAPLAN, who passed away at age 79 in NY on Sept. 14. Henry directed DS episodes in 1969 until the end of the series, alternating with Lela Swift. He directed ABC's "All My Children" for more than 25 years, winning the Daytime Directing Emmy Award in 1995. He also directed episodes of "The Doctors." He was a director for Granada Television in London and directed numerous West End stage productions, including the London stage premiere of "Gemtlemen Prefer Blondes." He worked with famed actors such as Vivian Leigh, Sir Sean Connery, and Maggie Smith during his numerous television and theatrical directing projects. His Broadway credits included "P.S. I Love You," "Any Wednesday," and others. A memorial service is expected at a later date. Fans who wish to honor his memory may contribute in his name to Broadway Cares or Bide-A-Wee.
