April 24, 2003. ******************************************************************* Hello, Dark Shadows Fan, ShadowGram (SG) announces the following breaking news for Dark Shadows (DS). * The Dark Shadows Festival (Fest) has announced that "its upcoming 20th Anniversary Celebration at the Brooklyn Marriott on August 29-31 will also be its Farewell. Although the Fest plans to pursue other DS-related events in the future, this is planned as the final traditional 3-day convention." SG and the Fest have hinted at "a special surprise" for this convention. It is: "To commemorate the occasion, the DS actors will reunite for the first time in character to present the first-ever authorized DS sequel on stage. Entitled 'Return to Collinwood,' this full-fledged 1-hour dramatic presentation will explore the familiar characters and their lives since DS ended." SG adds that original DS music plus sound effects also will be utilized in this special production. The Fest asks SG to inform all interested fans that "they should make hotel reservations at the Brooklyn Marriott as soon as possible since rooms will be sold out fast. The hotel will then accommodate fans at the nearby Marriott Financial Center Hotel in lower Manhattan, two subway stops away from the Brooklyn Marriott." The discounted room rate is only $135 + tax a night (covering up to 4 individuals per room). The film, nominated for a "Best Animated Feature" Academy Award, is released on DVD on Apr. 29. Joseph's intense independent film "Manic" is due to open in NY Apr. 25.
